Block 10
DCV10
The Russian River Valley provides us with the ideal microclimate to grow outstanding Chardonnay and Pinot. Daily heating during the growing season is tempered by fog from the Pacific Ocean. The moderate climate of the Russian River Valley and fog from the Pacific Ocean keeps our grapes protected from the harsh sun, allowing them to ripen evenly and slowly. Balanced fruit flavors and superb acidity give our Chardonnay and Pinot Noir dimension and depth – characters that can only be achieved from a vineyard site and appellation that is second to none.
Our DCV Block 10 Chardonnay is crafted from just 30 rows in the northeast corner of the vineyard. The well-draining, gravelly soils and low fertility zones provide fruit that has a full ripeness of flavor. The canopy is functional as well, performing photosynthesis and transpiration late into the season so that the Chardonnay fruit retains its crisp acidity.
