Dear
Friend: |
|
| |
|
The sights of Spring have painted an
incredible tapestry of color as the mustard
and fruitless plums are in full bloom
against the backdrop of emerald green
hillsides. Winter rains have been
plentiful, filling local reservoirs and
providing a much needed drink of water to
the vineyards.
Many thanks to
those of you who joined us for Winter
Wineland in January. It was a terrific
event. Next up is Barrel Tasting during the
first two weekends in March. This is yet
another wonderful opportunity to speak with
winemakers and taste through young wines
straight from the barrel. We encourage all
of our friends to check out wine country
during these exciting weekends.
Warm weather is just around the corner, so
start planning your wine country getaway
today! |

32nd Annual Barrel Tasting |
 |
|
|
|
|
March 6-7 and 13-14;
11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Dry Creek Vineyard and the other participating
members of the
Russian River Wine Road
would like to welcome you to two exciting weekends
of wine tasting. This is your chance to sample wines
from the barrel, talk to winemakers, and explore the
beautiful Dry Creek, Alexander, and Russian River
Valleys.
Barrel Tasting is not a food or themed
event. It's all about the WINE. Our goal is to
introduce people to wines still in the barrel, help
guests learn about wine, and better understand what
they are tasting.
To taste at any of the
participating wineries during these weekends, you'll need to purchase the Barrel Tasting wristband
and glass. The price is $30 per person, payable at
the first winery you visit. |

The Wine News - Top 125 for 2009 |
 |
|
|
|
|
Recently, we were proud to learn that not one but
TWO of our wines were recognized by The Wine News
magazine in their Top 125 wines of 2009. This is an
incredible accomplishment and a testament to our
winemaking staff who continue to produce outstanding
wines.
|
 |
|
The two
wines recognized were our 2006 Somers Ranch
Zinfandel and 2006 Beeson Ranch Zinfandel.
Each of these vineyard designated gems were
produced in limited quantities and
represent the true terroir of the Dry Creek
Valley. Somers Ranch is located on the
western facing slopes of the valley and is
planted to 20 year-old Heritage vines. The
110 year-old Beeson Ranch lies on the
western side of the valley, but with eastern
facing exposure. This vineyard is one of
the true “grand dame’s” of the Dry Creek
Valley. Each wine is completely distinct
and offers an array of complex flavors and
Zinfandel nuances.
|
|
 |
A limited quantity of each wine is available
in our tasting room, so be sure to place
your order soon before we’re all sold out! |

Wine & Spirits - Top Restaurant
Brands for 2009 |
 |
|
|
|
|
The positive
press keeps rolling in! In the April 2010 issue of Wine & Spirits
magazine, we were |
|
recognized in the 21st
Annual Restaurant poll as one of the
wineries currently shaping America’s
restaurant scene. Two of our
wines were singled out by
restaurateurs – Old Vine Zinfandel
and Mariner – as being |
 |
|
|
outstanding
additions to wine lists.
This is an incredible honor and we are
thrilled to be mentioned in the same
category as some of the best wineries in
California. |

Celery Root & Apple Soup Recipe |
 |
|
|
|
|
This
delicious late
winter soup is sure to
satisfy. The magic in this
pairing is the combination
of salty pancetta along with
the sweetness from the
Granny Smith apples and
toasty vanilla oak nuances
in the Chardonnay. The
succulent flavors are
robust, yet each element in
the soup and wine add
balance and character.
